Get ready, fellow drama enthusiasts, because I've got a gem of a series to recommend to you! This show has two major selling points: it's a Netflix production, which means it's guaranteed to be top-notch quality, and it's written by none other than Kim Eun-hee, the genius behind Signal.

Now, I must confess, I've been out of the kdrama scene for some time now, but when I heard about this series, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. You see, Kingdom takes place during...

the Joseon era and revolves around... wait for it... zombies! I know, I know, you're probably thinking, "Zombies? Again?" But trust me, this show breathes new life into the genre.

What sets Kingdom apart is the way it incorporates classic kdrama elements into its original storyline. We've got all the usual historical drama goodies: political conspiracies, power struggles, corrupt nobles, and evil queens. But wait, there's more! There's also a mysterious disease that turns the dead into bloodthirsty zombies. And guess what? The show actually takes the time to explain how it all happened! Finally, a writer who isn't afraid to give us the backstory we crave.

But that's not all. Kingdom has some serious plot twists and unexpected creativity that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I won't spoil anything, but let's just say that episode six is an absolute game-changer. The show takes a classic zombie trope and turns it upside down, which at first may seem strange, but trust me, it works like a charm.

Now, here's something all the drama junkies will appreciate: there's absolutely no romance in this series! Can I get a "YAAAAAS" and a "HALLELUJAH!"? It's a breath of fresh air to see a kdrama that focuses on other aspects besides swoon-worthy love stories.

The pacing and cinematography in Kingdom are simply mind-blowing. Each episode flies by, leaving you hungry for more. And let me tell you, the visuals are stunning. Netflix really went all out with this one, and it paid off big time.

My only complaint is that I wanted to know more about the characters' backstories. They're well-developed and instantly likeable, but with only six episodes, there's only so much content that can be packed in. Thankfully, the show has been renewed for a second season, so hopefully, we'll get to explore their stories further.

Oh, and let's not forget the sprinkles of comic relief throughout the series. It's perfectly placed, providing a much-needed balance without undermining the intensity of the plot. Kudos to Kim Eun-hee for her brilliant writing once again.

Now, I must confess that I didn't recognize some of the actors in this series, but they all brought their A-game. Ju Ji-hoon was a noble hero, a bit cliché, perhaps, but necessary for the story to progress. Bae Doona rocked her role, although I would have loved to see her unleash even more badassery. And can we please make Kim Sang Ho a global star? He was absolutely amazing and elevated the show to a whole new level.

So, my fellow drama addicts, don't be hesitant about diving into Kingdom. It's six episodes of pure greatness, and trust me, you won't be able to stop watching. I'm already eagerly awaiting the second season, and I know you will too.

Alright, grab some popcorn and get ready for a wild ride! This TV series that I'm about to review is a true game-changer in the KDrama world. It's called "Kingdom," and let me tell you, it's something you've never seen before.

"Kingdom" seamlessly blends historical drama with thrilling zombie madness. The story is loosely based on the Imjin War, a Japanese invasion during the late 16th century. But here's the catch - there's a twist! Picture this: a group of Koreans, led by the former governor...

Ahn Hyeon, facing off against a massive Japanese army. Oh, and did I mention that some of the soldiers turn into bloodthirsty zombies? Yeah, that's right! These guys found a way to use a mysterious "resurrection plant" to their advantage.

The series takes us on an epic journey through time, giving us a glimpse of the past with its grand costumes and breathtaking South Korean landscapes. But hold on tight because there's also plenty of blood and guts. This is definitely not your typical KDrama. "Kingdom" pulls no punches when it comes to intense, brutal scenes.

What's really fascinating about this show is the way it shakes up the traditional battle formations and martial arts fights. The zombies have their own unique "fighting style," which adds an extra layer of excitement. It's not just about skill with a sword anymore; it's about quick thinking and outsmarting your undead opponents.

But don't think that the political intrigue takes a back seat in this series. Oh no, it's just as compelling. We see how a handful of power-hungry individuals make life a living hell for everyone else. And amidst all the chaos, there's this burning question: how did this epidemic start, and can it be stopped?

Now, here's the thing. "Kingdom" is so packed with content that it's clear there's more story to tell. In fact, they're planning a second season, a KMovie, a third season, and even a film spin-off. So, buckle up because the journey is far from over. I, for one, am ready to join the brave crown prince as he fights to save his people and his country from this zombie plague.

If you're up for a thrilling and unpredictable adventure, "Kingdom" is the show for you. Just be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. So grab some popcorn, turn off the lights, and get ready to be on the edge of your seat. It's about to get real bloody and real good!

Hey y'all, buckle up 'cause this review is about to spill some major tea! Warning: Spoilers ahead! Okay, so let me break it down for you. Picture this: a physician and his assistant pay a visit to the King. The next day, we find out the King is seriously ill. Our main guy, CP Lee Chang, wants to see his father but the Queen won't let him near the chamber. She's worried that if he catches the flu, he won't be fit to take over...

the throne. Sneaky as he is, CP manages to get inside and discovers something freaky: a shadowy beast with a nasty stench of blood. But when he tries to tell the guards, they think he's just tired. Man, It's frustrating!

Anyway, CP finds out that the last physician who saw his father is in Dongnae, so he sets off on a trip to meet him. Meanwhile, back at Jiyulheon, things start going off the rails. The physician returns with his dead assistant, leaving everyone shocked and confused. Then this woman named Seo Bi, who is also a physician, notices that the sick patients are happily chowing down on meat. But get this, the meat isn't from a deer, it's from a dead body! Can you believe it? I was totally shooketh!

Meanwhile, CP and his trusty bodyguard arrive at Jiyulheon and see chaos everywhere. Dead bodies galore! They send them to the magistrate, but here's the crazy thing: Seo Bi thinks the bodies aren't really dead. She insists they'll rise at night. CP reluctantly believes her and sends Seo Bi and this other guy to the magistrate to investigate. But guess what? Nobody believes them, and they end up in jail. As night falls, the dead bodies start coming to life, turning the whole village into a zombie land. Talk about a nightmare!

But don't worry, the CP comes to the rescue and they all make their way to a city called Sangju. With the help of his old teacher and his crew, they start building forts and traps to fight the zombies. Meanwhile, Seo Bi discovers a herb that can cure the epidemic. Phew, things are finally looking up!

But just when they thought they were safe, BAM! Plot twist of the century! The zombies rise not at night, but in response to the temperature. Can you believe it? Mind blown! Oh, and here's another plot twist: the Queen isn't actually pregnant. Drama, drama, drama!

I stumbled upon this gem on Netflix thanks to Instagram, and let me tell you, I couldn't stop watching. I even ditched my current drama for it. It's that good, y'all. Each episode had me on the edge of my seat. My siblings and I were so invested that we were commentating the whole series, rooting for the good guys and wishing the bad guys would get eaten by zombies. Haha, we had a blast!

Now, here's my verdict. "The show" is absolutely amazing. The actors deserve serious props for all the running they had to do. MVPs of the year, for real! And you know what? I can't wait to rewatch it when the next season drops. Seriously, everyone needs to watch this show. It's a masterpiece. A big shoutout to Netflix for delivering this gem with subtitles. You rock!

So, what are you waiting for? Go check it out! Trust me, you won't regret it.

This one is a toughie to rate, honestly. I mean, I'm so used to those typical k-drama series where one season wraps everything up nicely in a bow. You know, a solid conclusion after like 16 episodes or something. But with this show, just when you think you're about to witness the most epic action scene, BAM! They hit you with that "Wait until next year" bombshell. Seriously? It's a bit frustrating, I won't lie.

Putting the ending aside, though, this show is a blast. It's...

like a blockbuster movie in series form. While there's a whole monarchy thing going on, centered around the crown prince, the show doesn't focus too much on character development or a complex storyline. It's more like one of those disaster films, you know? The main focus is on the epidemic happening around them, rather than delving deep into the characters. And that's totally okay, in my book.

It presents itself as this epic, action-packed spectacle, and boy does it deliver. The acting is top-notch, the special effects are fantastic, and overall, it's just a damn fun watch. But seriously, why on earth would they make us wait a whole year with that intense cliffhanger? Not cool, folks. Not cool at all.

So, there's this Korean period drama that's been making waves recently. You know how Korea loves their historical dramas, right? Well, this one takes place during the Joseon Period, a time of monarchs, wars, and rebellions. It's got all the usual elements - expensive sets, traditional Korean dress, and beautiful scenery. But what sets this drama apart is its unique blend of horror and fantasy.

The creators of this show, writer Kim Eun Hee and director Kim Sung Hoon, wanted to do something different. They wanted...

to inject some realism into the genre. And that's exactly what they did with Kingdom. It's set in the past but combines elements of violent zombies with a political and social critique of the Joseon period.

The story revolves around Prince Lee Chang, who's not having the best time. He's got a stepmother who's about to have a baby, and his chances of becoming king are looking pretty slim. Things take a turn for the worse when he discovers that his father has become a flesh-eating creature. Determined to find answers, he sets off on a journey with his loyal guardsman Moo Young. But they're not the only ones who know the truth. A doctor named Seo Bi and a mysterious man named Young Shin also stumble upon this shocking revelation. And as the political landscape becomes more volatile, alliances and friendships are put to the test.

Now, you might be thinking, "Zombies? That's been done before!" And you're not wrong. But what sets Kingdom apart is its focus on the characters and their complexities. It's not just about the undead; it's about the human drama. From Prince Lee Chang's sense of morality to the transformation of a selfish ruling-class member, the characters in this show feel real. Sure, there's a typical villain with a revenge plot, but even he has hidden depths.

The pacing of the show may be a bit slow at first, but once the story gets going, you won't be able to look away. It's engaging, realistic, and definitely not for the faint-hearted. And while the acting may not always be top-notch, there are some standout performances that make up for it.

All in all, Kingdom is a solid show with a unique blend of history and horror. It's got an intriguing social critique and is definitely worth your time if you're looking for something to sink your teeth into.
