Summary:

During a tumultuous era under Emperor Songzong's rule, the city of Kaifeng is plagued by a crisis. Baau Cing, a dedicated public servant, teams up with the righteous Gung Syun Caak and the protective Chin Chiu to combat the corrupt forces infiltrating the government. Meanwhile, Wan Chin Yu, a merchant's daughter renowned for her persuasive speech, seeks guidance from Gung Syun Caak to pursue a career in law. Alongside them, Gei Nim Nim, a skilled maid with expertise in autopsies, becomes a crucial asset in solving various cases alongside the seven men of Kaifeng. However, as they dig deeper, they soon become aware of the numerous dangers lurking within the city.

As Baau Cing and Nim Nim share common interests, a blossoming romance gradually unfolds. Yet, their happiness is short-lived when Baau Cing uncovers Nim Nim's true identity, revealing a massive conspiracy she has been concealing. Furthermore, Chin Yu's father harbors disloyal ambitions and dares to accuse the Emperor of usurping the throne. Now faced with his most challenging case to date, Baau Cing finds himself at a crossroads. Will he sacrifice his conscience for the sake of society, or will he choose to expose the truth, risking everything in the process?
