  There must be some hidden charm about this series that eludes me. The buzz around it, the eager recommendations... they propelled me to give the series a chance. However, what followed was a tirade of personal disapproval. Here goes my exasperated take on what many deem an acclaimed romantic drama set against a backdrop of competitive gaming:

  following, incessant and bizarre messages from a disguised online avatar, uninvited appearances - one would think such behavior warrants a swift block or a legal intervention. And yet, it goes on.
  
  The incongruity doesn’t stop there. Here we have a female protagonist with a notable fan following in her own right. Yet she oscillates between being an enigmatic, celebrated figure and an unnervingly obsessive character with inadequate self-assurance. The frequency of cringe-worthy moments she provides would easily surpass the highest scores in the gaming world she inhabits.
  
  Moving on to our male lead, his backstory was teased as a dramatic turning point waiting to unfold. One presumed a betrayal of epic proportions - something to justify the depth of his angst. Alas, the great reveal is anti-climactic; the so-called betrayal is nothing more than his former captain's absolutely reasonable decision to prioritize fatherhood. The male lead's incessant moping over this strikes me as a puzzling, if not preposterous, narrative choice.
  
  Gamers and gaming enthusiasts, steer clear. The representation of gaming here is subpar at best, with the excitement of competition reduced to insipid coding sequences and a random eruption of victory - a gross oversimplification of the esports universe.
  
  Another element I found abrasive was the nationalistic undertone that permeated the story. While a dash of patriotism can sometimes elevate a narrative, this particular series crosses into the realm of uncomfortable jingoism.
  
  Despite being aesthetically gratifying (courtesy of the male lead and his equally charming cousin), I found myself struggling to stay engaged. Indeed, the series does experience a mild improvement after several episodes, but it does little to redeem itself in my eyes, nor does it explain the widespread acclaim.
  
  To wrap up, my recommendation would be to bypass this one. It's a series that would fail to find a spot on my rewatch list, and I remain baffled by its popularity.

  Her purported expertise fell notoriously short in practice, contributing nothing more than a frivolous game that seemed childishly out of sync with her capabilities. Furthermore, her unsettling fixation on the male protagonist bordered on the criminal, painting her as a character more vexatious than venerable. The incongruity of her actions, culminating in a bewildering refusal of a marriage proposal, seemed less an act of character defiance and more a failure of coherent storytelling.
  
  As if to exacerbate this narrative malaise, the series indulged in an excessive use of filler content and recycled flashbacks, reminiscent of the most trying arcs of iconic animes known for their penchant for prolongation. One could argue that a more judicious edit could distill the essence of the story into a mere handful of episodes, consequently endowing it with the pacing and engagement it so desperately needed.
  
  In a landscape brimming with E-Sports-themed Cdramas, this series regrettably falls short of its contemporaries at every juncture. Should one be in dire need of entertainment and bereft of alternatives, perhaps it may serve as a makeshift diversion. However, for those seeking a series to resonate and captivate, I advise looking elsewhere—this is a tale I cannot envision revisiting.
